Official Shopify Hardware Rentals
Shopify, a multi-billion dollar e-commerce company, partnered with Fello, a hardware rental company, to manage rentals for the Shopify point of sale systems.
As the dedicated development team for Fello, we were contracted to build an easy to use online portal for several Shopify hardware packages.
While there are many open source e-commerce platforms like Magento, none of these supported the complex rental pricing, tracking, and fulfillment requirements, so we built a custom website using the Laravel framework.
We also built inventory management and order fulfillment systems for the client which were tightly integrated into the Shopify hardware website.
Users can select rental period, product bundles, accessories and services. Pricing is based on length of rental, equipment type and quantity.
Verifies addresses and suggests corrections using the UPS API
Checks the inventory to see if the items (quantity) in cart are available for desired dates.
Users can download PDF quote, tracked using Google Analytics.
The shipping time and cost is calculated based on the customer ZIP code and the size/weight of item/s.
Captures and authorizes credit card information. Automatic receipt generated. Order is added to our Fello inventory fulfillment system.
