Colel Chabad Pushka
The coin box on the kitchen shelf, rebuilt for a world that stopped carrying coins.
Overview
For over two centuries, tzedakah in a Jewish home has had a sound: coins dropping into a pushka on the shelf. The Pushka App is Colel Chabad's digital version of that box — add a little at a time, watch it fill toward a goal you set, and empty it whenever you're ready. Founded in 1788, Colel Chabad is Israel's oldest continuously operating charity, and gifts made through the app support its work feeding families and caring for widows and orphans across the country. Built for iOS and Android.

A pushka isn't a checkout flow. It's small, frequent, almost unconscious giving — a few cents before davening, a dollar before Shabbos. Recreating that on a phone meant getting four things right:
- Keep the ritual's feel. A coin you can hear drop and a box you watch fill, not a donation form.
- Make small giving effortless. Quick, repeatable taps, paid with whatever's already in your pocket.
- Respect how people live. A giving streak that pauses for Shabbos and Yom Tov instead of penalizing observance.
- Work everywhere at once. Shekels in Jerusalem, dollars in New York — each clearing correctly, in the giver's own language.
What We Built
GS built the app for iOS and Android, now in its third major version, with the act of giving at the center.
- Tap to give. Your own preset amounts, toward a goal you set. Each tap lands with a coin-drop sound you can switch off.
- Empty in one step. Send your full pushka by Apple Pay, Google Pay, a saved card, or Bit when giving in Israel.
- Streaks that respect Shabbos. A daily streak that quietly skips Shabbos and Yom Tov so the chain never breaks — plus badges and milestones to keep the habit going.
- Reminders that fit the week. A nudge before Friday candle-lighting, and a home-screen widget so the pushka lives on your phone the way the old one lived on the shelf.
- Smart payment routing. Stripe for international donors, Tranzila for Israel — chosen automatically behind the scenes.
- A platform, not just an app. Five languages, multiple currencies, and the ability to run branded pushkas for other organizations and give to more than one cause at once.

Tech Stack
An Ongoing Partnership
This is the part GS cares about most: the Pushka App wasn't something we built and walked away from. We built it and have stayed on as the team behind it — shipping release after release, adding payment rails and observance-aware features, wiring up analytics, and handling the day-to-day of keeping a live donation app running. It's on its third major version and still shipping.
Rated 4.8★ on both the App Store and Google Play, with reviews that read less like app feedback than like a habit that stuck.
What our customers say
Gorin Systems — with their dedicated team of developers, project managers, and, of course, under the direction of Moshe — have transformed Pushka App from an idea to a reality. They are a highly organized and detailed-oriented team with the solid grasp of the app's needs. Consequently, they successfully adapted to the project's evolving requirements and integrated new technologies when the app called for it. But most importantly, they are a pleasure to work with!
